Kim and her husband Steve have been married since 1984 and are members of the Karns church of Christ in Knoxville, TN where Steve serves as pulpit minister. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
Kim attended Freed Hardeman University and completed graduate work in special education at Marshall University in West Virginia. She has taught special education and currently works for the school of preaching at Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies.
In 2020, she and her husband wrote a book together, "When the Prodigal is Your Prodigal" and she enjoys writing for her website www.teachinghelp.org.
Kim’s favorite church activity is serving as the director of "Forever His," a program for children with disabilities and their families.
