Friday Night Lesson, 7:00 PM

Mitzi Watson

Mitzi was born and raised in Sherman, Texas. She graduated from Sherman High School and attended Grayson College. Mitzi and her husband, Danny (aka Dano), were married in 1980. They have two chilren, Brandon, and his wife Whitney, and Kirsten (Watt), and her husband John. Both families have blessed Mitzi and Danny with 5 precious grandchildren: Tera, Kamryn, Bergan, Colby, and Sawyer. 

 

Mitzi and Danny moved their family to Howe in 1990 and began working with the Howe congregation. For many years, Danny served as a Deacon, and in 2021, he began serving as an Elder. Mitzi teaches Bible classes of all ages volunteers to teach in VBS. She has organized Girl’s Days, and helped with Ladies Days. Serving alongside her husband while he was a Deacon, they worked with helping to train the youth of the congregation. Mitzi has also taught Ladies’ Bible class.

 

Mitzi loves animals and being outdoors. She enjoys watching her grandchildren participate in various sports and activities.

1st Lesson,

Edi McCrady

Edi has been a member of the church for 50 years. Edi was born and raised in Corrigan, TX in East Texas. She moved to Irving in 1980 and began worshiping with the Webb Chapel church of Christ, where she met her husband, Chris. They were married in 1997. Together, they had two girls and a boy (Molly, Maggie, and Morgan) They moved to Van Alstyne in 2001 and found their home with the Howe congregation. Edi’s husband Chris, passed from this life in 2008. Edi currently is the secretary for the Howe congregation.


Edi taught her first Bible class when she was 15. She has taught Bible classes of all ages. Currently, she is teaching the Tuesday Ladies Bible study which is recorded live on Howe C of C Ladies Bible Study FB page. She is helpful in preparing for annual events such as VBS, Ladies Days, Veterans Day, Lectureships, and just about any other event that may come up.


In her spare time, Ed enjoys reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and watching mystery crime solving shows.



2nd Lesson,

Renae Goyne

Renae has been a member of the Church for 45 years and 23 of those years have been with the Howe congregation. Renae grew up in Clarksville, Texas and eventually moved to Howe where she has been living for 18 years. Renae is married to John Goyne since 2003. She has two children, Jimmy, who passed from this life in 2000. He would have been 43. And Mandy, 36. She and John have two precious grandchildren, Haygen, 15, and Adley, 10. Renae has been working as an LVN Nurse in Nursing Homes, Rehab, and Pediatric Home Health Care, going on 20 years, this August. Renae’s hobbies include designing t-shirts, painting, and crafting.


Renae is very active in the work of the church. She teaches children’s Bible classes. She is coordinator of the church’s annual Ladies’ Day. She volunteers to teach VBS every year and she was essential in getting the Special Needs VBS started at the Howe congregation two years ago. She is coordinator of the church’s annual Easter Egg Hunt and along with her husband, John, hosts Movie Night, at least twice a year, for the children of the congregation and community.



3rd Lesson,

Pam Kelley

Pam Kelley was born and reared in Sherman, Texas. She was reared by two loving, Christian parents, Joe and Maxine Fulenchek. She has been very active in the church most of her life. Pam has coordinated and helped with many ladies lectureships. She has taught Bible classes and helped to organize VBS.


Pam married Larry Kelley 44 years ago. She and Larry reared their two children, Patti and Travis in Yakima Washington.


Upon her retirement from Washington State University Office of Research, she and Larry decided to move back to Texas. They placed membership with the Howe church of Christ. They were also very happy when their children and grandson, Cedric, moved to Sherman. Pam and Larry are very happy and proud that all of their family now worship together in the same congregation.
